What is the IBA?
The International Bartenders Association (IBA) is a trade body founded in 1951. It keeps a list of IBA Official Cocktails, with a standard recipe for each so that a drink is made the same way worldwide. The list is split into three groups: The Unforgettables (classics), Contemporary Classics and New Era Drinks.
This site uses the IBA's current published list of 102 cocktails. Each recipe page links to the IBA's own page. The IBA's recipes are one standard, not the only correct way, and many bartenders adjust ratios. Our method text is written in our own words from those recipes.
